All I want for Christmas is . . .
. . . a year of injury-free year of running
. . . to finally enter a race on a trail or cross-country course
. . . never again to hear the Jim Fixx “dying while running” excuse used by non-runners. (They never learned that doctors said he would have died 10 years earlier if he had not been a runner)
. . . to continue adding to my list of states in which I have taken a run (added 2 more this year)
. . . for walkers to use the correct lanes on both outdoor and indoor tracks
. . . to try a new race distance in the coming year (a sure PR)
. . . that more media attention will be paid to running and runners
. . . to enter a race not as a runner but as a volunteer behind the scenes
. . . never again to hear a non-runner’s disappointment that I never ran the New York Marathon, even though I qualified for and ran in the Boston Marathon
. . . to run more with my best friend
. . . to see my running book published in the coming year (keep an eye out for the fall)
. . . that all of you find happiness and running successes in the coming year!
